How I Work Face to Face

Many of us face emotional difficulties at some point during our lives. We can feel overwhelmed, or ‘not ourselves’ or ‘out of sorts’ – we may feel unable to cope, sometimes from long-term difficulties or sudden, unexpected events. This can lead us to feeling lost or stuck, and being unable to find a way forward. Turning to friends and family for support can be really useful, but sometimes this is not possible or not enough. Research shows that psychotherapy and counselling.
We might look for help hoping to change something where we might be experiencing conflict, distress or unhappiness.  Therapy can help you connect to what your body knows and how you feel, or offer opportunities to learn about yourself and your family, to practice new ways of being and new skills, work through problematic thoughts and actions and discover your strengths, individually or with others.  Therapy can provide you with a confidential, empathetic, non-judgemental space to explore feelings and thoughts, developing clarity and insight into yourself and your relationships and changing the way things are.

I believe that we can change, that people have a right to change, and change is always possible (if not always easy) and I will work to make you feel comfortable and safe to explore what’s going on for you, your family or in your relationship/s.  You might be seeking help because of the present situation which may be influencing future decisions or because you feel it’s time to explore past experiences you’re aware are affecting present life, your relationships, and future hopes.
I work with individuals, couples, groups and families on either a short term or long-term basis, depending on what suits you best. I’ve supported clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds and ages for a range of different reasons including (but not limited to):

Initial telephone discussion
Prior to working together we would have an initial 10-minute discussion so I can understand what brings you to therapy at this time, along with talking about your goals, expectations and best hopes for therapy. It’s also a chance for you to get a sense of how we might work together, as well as ask any questions you have. There’s no fee for this consultation, and no expectation to commit to sessions.

Ongoing sessions
Sessions are held regularly each week. This frequency is the most supportive way to undertake therapy,  enable you to explore the reasons that have brought you to therapy and progress around your therapeutic goals.
I offer in-person sessions in the same place, on the same day and time each week.
Online sessions are weekly. For clients who perhaps have changing shift patterns, where availability allows, I can offer flexibility with day and time each month.
Fees
£60 Session fee (50-minutes)
£80 couples/families (50 minutes)
I have some limited concessions available for online sessions for individuals where affordability is an issue. Get in touch to see if we can work something out.
